கதையா?? மூச்ச்!!
எதற்கு கமல் பத்து வேடங்களில் நடிக்க வேண்டும் என்ற கேள்வியில் அர்த்தம் இல்லை! தன் குரு செய்த சாதனையை இன்னும் நீட்டித்து வருங்கால சிஷ்யர்களின் சாதனை அளவுகோலை உயர்த்தும் ஆர்வம் படம் நெடுக பளிச்!!
தொடக்கமே தலை வாழை விருந்து! அதில் தமிழை வேறு பரிமாறி புல்லரிக்கவைக்கிறார்கள்! பத்து நிமிடமே என்றாலும் எல்லாரும் உயிரைக் கொடுத்து வேலை செய்திருக்கிறார்கள்!
அதன் பின்னர் தசாவதாரம் – சரேலென புறப்பட்டு நிற்காமல் ஓடும் ரோலர் கோஸ்டர்!
ஒரு பாத்திரமாக மாறி நடிப்பது எப்படி என்று இலவச வகுப்பு எடுத்திருக்கிறார் கமல். குறைந்த பட்சம் நான்கு கதாபாத்திர காட்சிகளையாவது நூலகத்தில் பாதுகாத்து வைத்து பாடம் எடுக்கலாம்! ஒவ்வொரு கதாபாத்திற்கும் உடை நடை குரல் என கமல் பிரமாதப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறார். கமலின் மூன்று பாத்திரங்கள் மூன்று வெவ்வேறு மரணங்களுக்கு எப்படியெல்லாம் ரியாக்ட் செய்கிறார்கள் என்பது ஒரு சோறு பதம்! தன் உயிரினும் மேலான கடவுளின் மேல் கடப்பாறை படும் போதும் கமலின் “ஆஆ” வாவ்! கோபம், குரூரம், ஹாஸ்யம் என நவரசங்களும் பத்து அவதாரங்களில் பிரசன்னம்.
சில இடங்களில் வாயடைக்க வைக்கிறார் கமல். இது நிஜமாகவே கமல் தானா என்று வியக்கிற அளவுக்கு உடல் மொழி மாறி, விழி மொழி மாறி, நிஜமாகவே பல அவதாரம் எடுத்திருக்கிறார். ஒரு ராயல் சல்யூட்!
பத்து கதாபாத்திரங்களையும் கதைக்குள் புகுத்த படாத பாடு பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். கதையெல்லாம் ரொம்ப யோசிக்காமல், திரைக்கதையின் வாலில் நெருப்பை பற்ற வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். கமலோடு பிசினென ஒட்டி திரியும் அசினுக்கு ஆயாசம் ஆகிறதோ இல்லையோ நமக்கு கொஞ்சம் ஆகிவிடுகிறது!
தசாவதாரத்தில் தலை காட்டினாலே போதுமென அணிவகுக்கின்றன நட்சத்திரங்கள். கமலெனும் நடிப்புச் சுனாமியில் எல்லாரும் அம்பேல்!
அசின் அவ்வபோது ரசிக்க வைத்தாலும் கீச் கீச் டப்பிங் காதில் பிளேடு போடுகிறது. அய்யர் பாஷைக்கு சபாஷ். மல்லிகா – செம காஸ்ட்லி ஊறுகாய்.
பாலிவுட்டை மனதில் வைத்து சேர்க்கப்பட்ட மற்றொரு “லக்கேஜ்” ஹிமேஷ் ரேஷ்மைய்யா, ஸோ ஸோ! பின்னணி இசையில் முன்னணியில் இருக்கிறார் தேவி பிரசாத்.
ரவி வர்மனின் காமிரா மிகப்பெரும் பலம். ஒரே காட்சியில் எத்தனை கமல் வந்தாலும், கொஞ்சம் கூட நெருடவில்லை. சுனாமி ஆகட்டும், சேஸ் ஆகட்டும், ரவி வர்மன் கடுமையாக உழைத்திருக்கிறார்.
கஷ்டப்பட்டு எடுத்தாச்சே என்று பல இடங்களில் எடிட்டர் தயங்கி இருக்கிறார். வெட்ட வேண்டிய இடத்தில் எல்லாம் ஒட்டி ஒட்டி, படம் பின் பகுதியில் இழு இழுவென இழுக்கிறது.
பிரம்மாண்ட பிராஜக்டை டெலிவரி செய்த ப்ராஜெக்ட் மானேஜர் கே. எஸ். ரவிக்குமாருக்கு ஒரு கை குலுக்கல்!
முகஸ்துதி பாடல் வைக்கிற நேற்று முளைத்த நண்டு சிண்டு எல்லாம், கடைசியில் வருகிற “உலக நாயகனே” பாடலை கொஞ்சம் கவனித்து, முடிந்தால் வெட்கப்படட்டும்!! கமல் காமிராவை பார்த்து பஞ்ச் பேசுவதும் எதற்கு என்று கவனிக்கவும்!
பெரிய பணம் போட்டு, அதை விட பெரிய பணத்தை திரும்ப எடுத்தால் மட்டும் தமிழ் சினிமாவை அடுத்த அடிக்கு எடுத்து செல்ல முடியாது. பெரிய உழைப்பும் வேண்டும் என நெத்தி அடியாக சொல்லியிருக்கிறார் கமல்.
உலக நாயகன் உறுமி சிலிர்த்திருக்கும் நரசிம்ம அவதாரம்!
Hey i think this review is a bit biased:)).Hope you are a kamal fanatic. I think the make-up and the graphics played the spoilsport not letting the viewers invole into the film.

Honestly man i don’t understand what people are complaining about. On one side Chandramukhi and Pokkiri are being made. On the other side there’s Anbe Sivam and Dasavatharam being made. But the point is people complain about Pokkiri and it still amnages to be a blockbuster and the same people complain about Anbe Sivam and it turns out to be a dud at the box office. If not for anything Dasaavathaaram deserves praise for just being made at the same time that a Kuruvi is also made in the Thamizh film industry. Dasaavatharam will pull up by a few notches what Kuruvi and the rest push down by a few inches. It deserves praise for the sheer effort and hardwork that Kamal, well past 45 if i’m not wrong, has put into each and every minute detail of the film, when our 30 something heroes are still running around trees and underestimating the audience, and worst still getting away with it.Maybe because its Kamal Haasan people expect the sky, but when he gives the sky indeed (a la anbe sivam/virumaandi) nobody accepts it. Now why am I getting all rhetoric in your comment space?? lol! I loved your review!! Its the fairest review I’ve read so far.

Well said!! Some of the “doubts” or “complaints” i heard – “what is the genetic reason behind kamal playing the ten roles?? “how come he is not suffering from jet lag?” “Tsunami struck at 6 30 am right? not 8 30…”
Jeeez!
It is very clear from day one that this is no “Mahanadhi” “Anbe Sivam” to touch your heart. There is no point in expecting a story here! I dont know why people stop themselves from enjoying this effort. Loss it not kamal’s

… i had the same notion when i came out watching “Hey Ram”… i was shouting “Look at him.. he is our pride” but no one cared!!!. Agreed Dasavathaaram is out-n-out commercial thriller, but still amidst all grandeur the soul was missing. I am now missing the kamal whom I adored in mahanadhi, nayagan, and heyram. i feel kamal should make films that can go to CANNES and not the OSCARS.

I agree with that “CANNES” and “OSCAR” thing. But this is just one film in his career. We cannot expect him to do “mahanadhi” or “Hey ram” every time! This movie is intended for “OSCARS” as you put it, and should be judged in that way! No point in expecting a “CANNES” thing here

கிழவனான நாகேஸ் வத வத பிள்ளைகள். ஜனத்தொகை பெருகி வரும் நிலையிலும் புத்திகெட்ட இனத்தின் செயல்பாடுகளையும் ஆங்காங்கே காட்டியுள்ளார்.
காலி புல்லா நன்றியுள்ளவர் போல், நல்லவர் போல் காட்டப்பட்டாலும், அடிப்படையில் மடயன் மாதிரி காட்டிவிட்டார்.
காலிபுல்லா பாத்திரமும், சீனாக்காரர் பாத்திரமும் அவசியமே இல்லாதவைகள்.
அமெரிக்காவில் விஞ்ஞானி என்றாலும், அங்கேயும் திருட்டுக் கும்மளாக இந்தியர்களே இருப்பதை இப்படம் தெளிவாக்கியுள்ளது. பணத்திற்காக எதையும் செய்பவன் இந்தியன் என்பதை இப்படம் காட்டியுள்ளது. தீவிரவாதியுடன் என்றாலும் கைக்கோர்த்துக்கொள்ளும் இந்திய அடிப்படைக் கொள்கையையும் காட்டுகிறது.
ஆனால் வெறுமனே இந்தியாவில் காண்போரையெல்லாம் தீவிரவாதி தீவிரவாதி எனும் பைத்தியக்காரத்தனத்தையும் இப்படம் வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது.
அது அமெரிக்க CIA என்றாலும் சரி, விஞ்ஞான கமல் என்றாலும் சரி, முஸ்லீம் கமல் என்றாலும் சரி, எல்லோரையும் நாயுடு தீவிரவாதி தீவிரவாதி என்று எந்த ஆய்வும் இன்றி மனம் போனபோக்கில் கூறும் இந்தியாவின் அடிப்பட்ட மடமையையும் இந்த படம் காட்டியுள்ளது.
எப்படியோ கமல் சில இடங்களில் சில வற்றை மறைமுகமாக சொல்லியுள்ளார்.
